Skincare Must-haves For The Over 30!

Date

Still using some of the same skin care products you used in your 20's? You may want to reconsider. While the skin may experience similar problems—i.e. breakouts and oily skin—a lot changes in your 30's.

In particular, your 30’s are a time to get serious about anti-aging and start incorporating skin care essentials that target fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and other premature signs of aging.

Check out this list of the basic must-have skin care products for your 30’s!

Cleanser

Whether you’re 15, 30, or 80, cleansing your face is an absolute must. At this specific age, though, we should be looking for cleansers that can also protect from free radicals that age the skin. Your face wash should cleanse effectively without stripping your skin of its natural lipids.

Eye Cream

The skin around the eyes is the most sensitive part of your face, and will be one of the first areas to show signs of ageing. Eye creams deliver the same active ingredients as moisturizers, but at a gentler strength for thinner skin around the eye.

Sunscreen

If you’re still debating whether or not you need to be using sunscreen, let us clear it up for you: The answer is a resounding yes. At this stage (and pretty much every stage of life), sun protection is a must.

Serum

As we start to age, you’ll notice that our bodies take a bit longer to recuperate. Same goes for our skin. So, in addition to protecting your skin with sunscreen and moisturizer, it’s time to add in the power of antioxidants as another layer of protection. Two antioxidants to keep on your radar? Vitamins C and E.

Moisturizer

In your 30’s moisturizer is a must. Whether you have dry skin or combination skin, topping your skin care routine off with a moisturizer can promote softer, smoother, more supple-looking skin. The trick is to find one that hydrates as it addresses your skin concern, whether that’s adult acne, blackheads, emerging fine lines or dullness.
